Agnes arrived New York from Hong Kong in 1983 and started learning a trade, with focus on costume jewelry while her better half, Robert, traded Asian art. They jointly managed a booth in a Manhattan arcade at 375 Canal Street in 1987. The couple diligently buy & sell, mostly with dealers and successfully earned a reputation for “Pagoda Specialty” since their humble beginning.

Fast forward to 2004, Agnes & Robert relocated their small business to Chelsea, an area in Manhattan that is packed with galleries and weekend flea markets, where antique & vintage treasures are hunted by dealers, collectors, retail customers, as well as tourists.

“New Pagoda Specialty” has been operating its Gallery in Manhattan’s Showplace Antique & Design Center since 2009.
